At first glance, one might think that the only thing about Guerilla Career Insights for Women is to give women some nasty tricks for their everyday work to kick everything and everyone aside in order to move up the career ladder by all means. That’s not what it is about.

True, giving women a few skills and tactics into their hands to make their career easier is part of it. But this is only one piece of the whole idea of being a Leapfrogger.

Leapfroggers know that being successful it not only about achieving the highest available job position, or to sit in a CEO’s chair. It’s rather about the way we make our career successful. And we believe in our career as something universal, something beyond the well-known and often very traditional male career paths. A career is how we decide to live our professional and private life jointly. When and how we want to strive for honor and glory. What we define to be attractive to be achieved and what doesn’t fit to our beliefs or personal wishes. It is also about changing career definitions in separate periods of our lifes. The journey itself is our North Star and our reward!

I started my journey by defining what my career needs to cover to be attractive and inspiring for myself. I learned to understand my strengths better. I went for employment positions matching with my personal interests. A traditional career didn’t matter for me any longer and I followed my inspiration and the grade of excitement of the available tasks. And guess what, I’m happy and successful today. I don’t know how the next years of my life will look like, but I’m sure I will be able to develop them as exciting as I want them to be.

I learned, that a perfect fitting career never just happens. It needs to be actively shaped. We need to spend time on it: envision it, plan it, do it, evaluate it and then start again.

This blog is meant to be “food for thoughts” to help us all to reflect ourselves and our environment to develop strategies and skills to break new grounds to a new kind of individual success.
